WELDING SYSTEMS

Robots convey the cleaned and pre-picked parts from individual goods carriers to the production system. Here the necessary processes for manufacturing a battery housing are carried out:  
Sub-assemblies are pre-machined and welded, add-on parts fitted, and intermediate machining performed. All weld seams can be inspected and then reworked manually if necessary. In this way, the sub-assemblies are turned step-by-step into a finished battery housing by welding and finishing operations, inserting joining and assembly elements, and checking the quality. Apart from handling individual parts, sub-assemblies, and finished battery housings within the system, the robots – some running on linear axes – perform a wide variety of joining tasks.
