Infeed

The iron castings are conveyed fully or semi-automatically into the system via the infeed conveyor or a rotary table and buffered. The robot removes the components and manipulates them over a camera station to the other process stations.
Corecracker station incl. brushing and deburring station

In preparation for the actual decoring process, the sand core is broken by decoring hammers. The components are then cleaned using a brushing unit and a deburring roller removes coarse protrusions.
Grinding stations

The components are grinded from all sides. The components are handled either by robot or rotary table. After the grinding process, the components are measured by laser and the component position is checked with a camera.
Robot fettling station

The components are fettled from all sides using rotating deburring knives.
Deburring and cracking station

The deburring and cracking station is used to remove the tiller and casting burrs. The tiller is sheared off and the casting burrs are leveled with knock-off hammers.
Decoring machine TWISTMASTER 400

The FILL TWISTMASTER 400 is used for the final decoring of components.
Trimming press

The casting is placed on the lower part of the tool, this can be done manually or using a robot. There it is positioned by means of an alignment cylinder and integrated position measuring system.
The hydraulically operated upper part of the tool moves onto the casting, which is fixed in place with the integrated hold-down devices. The cutting edges on the tool shear the burr to be removed from the casting. The casting can now be removed. Parallel to loading and unloading, the punching tool can be changed automatically as required.
The removed burrs are discharged towards the underside of the trimming press.
Buffer and outfeed

After the components have been decored and processed, they are buffered and then discharged.
The trimming and grinding line
The Fill TRIMMING AND GRINDING LINE is a processing line for iron and steel castings.
