HOT DRAPE FORMER
The cost-effective forming system
High temperature accuracy and precise vacuum control are the decisive factors in forming pre-impregnated and dry carbon-fiber materials. These and other process-relevant factors can be represented on the HOT DRAPE FORMER forming machine. The possibility to set the heat output individually for each emitter allows FRP preforms to be manufactured very economically and efficiently, while conserving resources.
The Cybernetics Produce HDF software suite allows recording and visualization of all relevant parameters at any point in the forming process.
The concept
Depending on the production process, individual or multiple layers are positioned very precisely on the forming tool. Then the tool table is moved fully automatically into the forming station.
The heat source (IR emitters, IR lamps, hot-air) heats the forming membrane and the workpiece to the required temperature. Thereafter a vacuum is applied between the tool and the membrane, which finally forms the workpiece.
The integrated cooling air supply allows the formed component to be cooled quickly and steadily to the target temperature. On completion of the cooling phase, the preform can be removed manually or automatically.
