Tomorrow´s specialists are enthused
Fill Machine Engineering regularly invites students from secondary schools, polytechnic schools, and higher technical institutes to visit the company. There, they are informed about apprenticeships and jobs with best prospects for the future.
At the beginning of November 2015, around 370 students visited Fill Machine Engineering in Gurten during the career orientation days. A skilled trade was presented at each of the five stations. The young visitors engaged themselves in designing, machining, and assembling electrical and mechanical components. Under the expert supervision of Fill´s apprentice trainers, the students were able to gain a good impression of each skilled trade requiring an apprenticeship. For years now, Fill has been the only company in the region to offer its own information program for students. "Thanks to good contacts with local schools, we can often arouse young people´s interest in technical professions at a very early stage. Many outstanding employees have already come to us in this way," reports CEO Wolfgang Rathner.
Gurten, 17th December 2015 – Fill Machine Engineering arouses the interest of tomorrow´s skilled professionals with extensive information campaigns and events. Every autumn, students from local secondary and polytechnic schools are invited to the high-tech company for its career orientation days. Under expert guidance, the young people learn about the training opportunities they have at Fill and what the offered apprenticeships all involve. Fill Machine Engineering is particularly pleased with the feedback from one accompanying teacher, who said that no other company in the region offers such an extensive insight into the skilled trades with such dedicated support. "The task of organizing and running the career orientation days, which last several weeks, is naturally a challenge for our team of apprentice trainers and Human Resources staff. Nevertheless, we regard this task as a social responsibility to society. We want to play our part in young people choosing a profession that delights and inspires them. All those who realize at the event that a technical apprenticeship isn´t something for them have at least found out something important for the rest of their lives," explains company CEO and proprietor Andreas Fill.
HTL Engineering Days
At the HTL (higher technical institute) Engineering Days, which were held this year between 16 and 27 November, the Gurten-based company addressed students from the 5 HTLs in the Innviertel region. During the course of a five-hour program, tomorrow´s engineers are provided with comprehensive information about jobs and career opportunities at Fill Machine Engineering. From a company presentation with factory tour through to active participation in a project. This involves the students working together to devise a concept for a conveyor system, which they then assemble and commission. The day is rounded off with a feedback session with the Fill engineers. The internationally successful company offers HTL students - after graduation with their Higher School Certificate - outstanding prospects for the future as design engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers or service engineers.
