Quick and precise: Innviertel-based company impresses plastics professionals at the K 2010
Fill scores highly at the K 2010 with efficient solutions for complex production processes.
The efficient complete solutions from Fill for complex production processes in the composites sector made an impressive appearance at the K 2010 showcase exhibition in Düsseldorf from 27.10 to 03.11.2010. Customers and trade visitors were won over by the unbelievable speed and highest levels of precision seen in the live demonstrations of the “speed mc” mold carrier on the Fill exhibition stand. The Fill “preforming liner” also caused quite a sensation. The fiber pre-forming system enables transformation of 2-D textiles into a defined freeform (3-D) in a reliable, fully automatic process. “Trade visitors to the K 2010 were positively surprised by how compatible highly technical demands are with durability and cost-effectiveness,” explains Wilhelm Rupertsberger, Manager of the PlasticsCompetenceCenter at Fill.
Düsseldorf/Gurten, 2nd November 2010 – The automation and linking of processes is one of Fill´s core areas of expertise. The Austrian machine engineering company is the leading specialist for complex production processes in the composites industry. At the K 2010 in Düsseldorf, the latest innovations for the machining and processing of polyurethane and composites were presented. “Customer interest was tremendous. Both the many talks we had with longstanding customers and the numerous initial contacts we made with potential new customers went very well indeed,” says a very satisfied Wilhelm Rupertsberger.
New Accents in Lightweight Automotive Construction
With the “preforming liner”, single and/or multi-layer textiles are individually raised to the required forming temperature. Low-warpage handling takes the component to the forming tool. After cooling, the dimensionally stable preform is removed. 2-D textiles are transformed into a defined freeform (3-D) in a reliable and fully automatic process. The "preforming liner" impresses with numerous benefits: Short cycle times, high repeatability, short set-up times, low-warpage textile handling, and precisely-controlled introduction of heat into the textile guarantee high efficiency combined with maximum quality in the production of fiber-reinforced plastic parts.
Efficient, Fast, and Economic
The “speed mc” mold carrier has been developed especially for rapid foam systems. “Due to its unique drive concept, closing times of as short as 2 seconds can be achieved,” explains Wilhelm Rupertsberger. The swivel functions of the two tool halves result in a function-oriented ergonomic design. The entire frame swivels in order to provide the optimal foaming and reaction position. The mold carrier is used in both standard systems and mobile transport systems.
