With effect from the beginning of June 2010, Fill machine engineering company took a 52 percent shareholdinginweitblick systems GmbH. weitblick systems based in Andorf, Upper Austria, has specialized in the development of tailor-made systems for in-process quality control during production.“With this shareholding in weitblick systems GmbH. we have won focused competence in optical information processing and automation technology in semi-conductor engineering for our company,” says CEO Andreas Fill.

Gurten, 15 June 2010 – Fill has until now already worked closely with weitblick systems for the optical measurement of steel edges during ski edge tuning or part detection on metal cutting machines. The young company, which currently has five employees, has successfully specialized in the fields of industrial image processing and software engineering and has already made a name for itself beyond the borders of Austria.Leading customers from Germany and the CzechRepublic put their faith in the expertise from the Innviertel region.weitblick systems won the Schrittmacher (Pacemaker) Prize in the “up to 9 employees” category in 2008.Fill received the same award in the category Best Manufacturing Company. The two companies got to know one another on the stage during the prize-giving.Since then they have been working together successfully. This cooperation has now led to the 52 percent shareholding of Fill in weitblick systems GmbH.

Innviertel expertise

It may be a coincidence – or maybe it’s not – that both companies are based in the Innviertel.“The regional proximity is naturally an additional advantage for the cooperation.Innovative inspection and testing systems are becoming ever more important in the automation of production processes. We have gained a wide range of outstanding synergies,” says Andreas Fill, explaining the reasons for the shareholding.Fill has for many years been successful with innovative complete solutions for complex production processes.A new focus of development will be towards renewable energies (wind, sun), while the automotive (lightweight automotive construction) and aerospace (automation of the processes in aircraft production) activities will be gradually phased out.
