Export success in Russia for Upper Austrian machine engineering
Fill Machine Engineering is constructing a complete 3-layer board-making facility and production systems for manufacturing house walls for the Russian company INOK – Volosovskiy LPK.
Fill Machine Engineering is pleased to announce a major order from Russia. The Wood Competence Center has been awarded the contract for construction of a complete 3-layer board-making facility and production systems for solid wood house walls. The customer is the Russian company “INOK – Volosovskiy LPK” based in St. Petersburg. With this project the company is now entering into the field of wood finishing. “This is the largest order we have ever received from Russia and the second largest order for wood processing machinery in the 45-year history of our company,” reports CEO Andreas Fill.
Gurten, 03 May 2011 – “We have been commissioned with the design of the complete production process for manufacturing one million square meters of high-quality multilayer boards per year. The sawn timber is cut into lamellas with the Fill ‘speedliner’, glue is applied to the joints, and the layers pressed into boards. The surfaces of the boards are then repaired, sanded, and formatted,” explains Erwin Altendorfer, Manager of the Wood Competence Center at Fill. Modern and highly efficient systems of the highest quality facilitate extremely cost-effective production of the required elements. And precisely this is one of the core areas of expertise of the Upper Austrian high-tech machine builder. Optimal interconnection of the system components guarantees perfect results for the most demanding of applications.
Russia: a growth market
The Russian company INOK is entering into the world of wood processing with the construction of the 3-layer board-making facility and a production line for solid wood house walls, the objective being to produce semi-finished sawn timber products for the Russian and Central European market. In so doing, the booming market for solid-wood house building in Russia is also being taken into account. The new plant in St. Petersburg is designed for a capacity of one million square meters of 3-layer boards per year. Solid wood house walls up to a size of 36 square meters are manufactured on the house wall production line. This makes highly technical demands of the production systems, machines, and work flows.
The highest levels of cost-effectiveness thanks to optimal raw material usage
The latest Fill technologies are being applied in the board-making facility and on the house wall production line in Russia. The entire production concept is based on the idea of making best possible use of the raw materials employed. The high-performance fine-cutting bandsaws in the ‘speedliner’ range are capable of cutting even the hardest of woods at a speed of up to 60 meters per minute, with a precision of +/- 0.1 mm and a kerf as narrow as 1.4 mm. This ensures optimal usage of raw materials. The ‘speedpress’ press line combines the highest degree of precision with capacity and flexibility in the pressing of multilayer products. Comprehensive quality and cost optimization is achieved with an output of up to 30 units per minute per line.
