More than 10,000 guests in four years
Since the Future Lab opened in May 2021, more than 10,000 visitors have immersed themselves in virtual worlds, programmed their first robot commands and created prototypes using 3D printing.
In March 2025, the talent lab welcomed the anniversary class from Aurolzmünster elementary school. To mark the occasion, all the children received a colorful Filli Future T-shirt.
The coolest knowledge factory far and wide
When technology coach Raphael Zweimüller held the first workshop with a school class in the Future Lab four years ago, it marked a real milestone in education. Initially, it was mainly schools from the Gurten area that came to the Future Lab, but the “Future Factory” soon established itself as a sought-after educational partner for the whole of Upper Austria - and occasionally even beyond its borders.
For young and old explorers
In order to make digitalization and technology a fun experience for children and young people, there are currently ten age-appropriate workshop formats on offer - from kindergarten age to adults. During the workshops, visitors move from lab to lab and discover new interests and unexpected talents. Creativity, problem-solving, motor skills and social skills are strengthened in a targeted manner. Many school classes have now visited the Future Lab several times and chosen their favorite workshop from a potpourri of different STEM topics (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology). The Future Lab team provides educational institutions with targeted support in achieving their educational goals in basic digital education.

The Future Lab is growing
While the Future Lab focuses on the playful experience of technology and the development of talents, the Next World Factory sets new accents in the promotion of apprentices. The technology lab was opened in December 2024 and adds a further six modules to the Future Lab.
On 180 square meters, an Energy Lab, Engineering Lab, Welding Lab, Quality Lab, CNC & E-Technology Lab and Cycle Lab provide apprentices with practical knowledge and in-depth skills in the STEM field. The bionics focus will not be neglected in the future either: The ground-breaking ceremony for the BEE-O-Lab, which is all about renaturation and natural sciences, took place last fall 2024. Opening is planned for the third quarter of 2025.
