Alarm level II large-scale exercise with e-vehicle recovery.
On June 11, 2025, the Power Cube was the scene of a large-scale level 2 fire drill in which the special design of the new parking garage presented a unique challenge for the emergency services.
The scenario: a burning electric vehicle on the 5th floor, rescue of people and an elevator rescue. Under realistic conditions, the Fill company fire department and twelve other fire departments from the surrounding area put their cooperation and operational readiness to the test.
The Fill company fire department carried out the initial attack using the Ultra High Pressure System (UHPS). A total of 138 dedicated firefighters took part in the large-scale exercise in the Power Cube. Numerous breathing apparatus teams were required to bring the burning vehicle under control. An aerial rescue device, a fire department drone and a swap body vehicle with a quarantine container were also deployed.
After successfully fighting the fire, a telescopic handler - equipped with a towing aid newly developed by the Fill company fire department - assisted with the recovery and transportation of the electric vehicle to the quarantine container. Meanwhile a stable water supply was set up to supply the fire engines and the simulated human rescue was also carried out successfully.
"Tests for emergencies make a significant contribution to the safety of the site and strengthen cooperation between company fire departments and volunteer fire departments. We also gained important insights during this operation, particularly with regard to respiratory protection coordination and communication between the units," says Gerald Berrer, commander of the Fill company fire department, pleased with the extremely successful outcome of the major level II exercise in the Power Cube. With its innovative developments and the dedicated commitment of the entire team, the Fill company fire department has once again proven that it is capable of finding creative and effective solutions to complex challenges.
