Power Cube takes shape

26.03.2024

Fill is on its way to becoming energy self-sufficient: One year after the ground-breaking ceremony, the shell of the future "energy donor" Power Cube is almost finished.

It is the largest investment project in Fill's history. The Power Cube at the company headquarters in Gurten moves the company a big step forward on its path to becoming 100 percent energy self-sufficient by 2026.

Around a year after construction began, the shell of the imposing building is nearing completion. The Power Cube, which consists of six levels, is now being fitted with photovoltaic modules on the outer façades. The five floors of the parking garage with around 650 parking spaces should be completed by the end of 2024. At the same time, the sixth floor interior is being fitted, where a 1,200 m2 garden with trees, green areas and seating will also invite you to relax. An office space for 120 workstations, a restaurant open to the public and rooms for fitness and beauty (physiotherapy, fitness and yoga room, hairdresser) round off the multifunctional Power Cube. It is planned that the sixth floor will be finished in the spring of 2025. "Instead of sacrificing more green areas for parking spaces, we are constructing what is – from an environmental perspective – an extremely sustainable building on ground that is already paved. With the Power Cube, we as the owner family are sending out a clear signal for our location in Gurten and creating the best conditions for the future of our company," says Andreas Fill, explaining the reasons for this investment.
