The entire spectrum of foundry technology

Fill hosted the Foundry Technology Innovation Day at its headquarters in Gurten. Digitalization opens up completely new possibilities, as the numerous trade visitors were able to see for themselves on site.

On the day before the “Great Foundry Technology Conference 2024” (April 25 and 26) in Salzburg, Fill's machine engineering experts hosted the Foundry Technology Innovation Day in Gurten. More than 40 participants experienced a varied program with exciting technical presentations, a company tour and a live presentation of the latest Fill developments in this field. The focus was on process optimization by digitizing the casting process. In addition to the technical topics, owner and CEO Andreas Fill presented the “Next World Project” - a Fill project for the training of the future for young people. At the end of the event, there was ample opportunity for an exchange of views and networking in a relaxed atmosphere.

Gurten, April 24, 2024 - As a full-range supplier of machines and systems for aluminum and iron and steel foundries, Fill supports its customers in all production processes - from core production and melting through to the tested casting. The innovative combination of virtual and real technologies makes the entire production process more qualitative, faster and more efficient. “We are delighted that we were able to present the entire spectrum of modern foundry technology - where it is developed and produced. The interest and positive feedback from the participants encourages us in our activities,” explained Martin Reiter, CFO, and Thomas Rathner, Head of the Casting Technology Competence Center at Fill, after the successful Foundry Technology Innovation Day on April 24, 2024.

Process optimization through digitalization of the casting process
Fill Product Manager Josef Nagl discussed the merging of virtual and real worlds in his presentation on process optimization through the digitalization of casting. The CYBERNETICS products developed by the company itself, which are an essential component of Fill's machines and systems, play a decisive role in this process. From monitoring complex individual processes and seamless component tracking to automated system optimization using AI, CYBERNETICS covers the entire range of required solutions.

The Next World Project
The presentation by Andreas Fill, who introduced the “Next World Project”, Fill's project for the training of tomorrow, was also met with great interest. The “Future Lab” talent laboratory is being expanded in the areas of environment and science in order to show new paths in career guidance. A spectacular space where creativity and community are created and where young people can discover and develop their talents. Fill is also planning to expand the internal training center in the area of apprentice training. This “Next World Academy” will not only train Fill's apprentices, but the premises will also be available to other companies. Implementation of the “Next World Academy” is planned by 2027.
