In-house Covid testing line at leading Innviertel company

Fill employees get vaccinated in-house

On June 1st, 2021, the COVID-19 vaccination event for employees, their relatives, and the employees of twelve other companies in the area was held at Fill Machine Engineering.

The general in-house vaccination line at Fill Machine Engineering in Gurten had been ready to go for several weeks. The only thing they had been waiting for was binding confirmation of a vaccine. Finally, the initiative was implemented simultaneously by four doctors on June 1st. Hall 13 in the Fill Future Zone was swiftly converted into a vaccination line for this purpose. Assisted by numerous first-aiders from the Fill team, the doctors implemented the vaccination program from 8 a.m. onwards.

Gurten, June 2, 2021 – After some 250 Fill employees had already received their first dose of the vaccine at public vaccination centers, and more than 100 had recovered from COVID, 350 people aged 18 and over who were willing to be vaccinated received the longed for injection at the vaccination initiative in-house at Fill. “With more than 80 percent of the workforce either vaccinated or recovered by the beginning of July, we can work together relatively safely in the company in the next few months,” says a delighted CEO Andreas Fill, commenting on the high willingness to be vaccinated in the company.

Above all, younger employees, who had not yet received an official vaccination invitation, took advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated in-house during working hours. With their voluntary vaccination against COVID-19, they have taken responsibility with respect to society and the company. In total, 350 Fill employees and 150 people from other companies were vaccinated. In the afternoon, there was a spontaneous opportunity for the relatives of Fill employees to receive the vaccination without an appointment, and 50 more people took advantage of this.

“Intensive testing has allowed us to control the spread of coronavirus in our company to a great extent. However, vaccination was the only solution for protecting our team as much as possible. Our aim from the very beginning was therefore to have our own vaccination line for all company employees. We have also extended this offer to other companies in the area,” reports Andreas Fill.

At the same time as the vaccination, the first simplifications for employees of the machine engineering company came into effect. From June, the 3G rule applies at Fill. Everyone who has either recovered or been vaccinated no longer has to undergo weekly testing. Reopening of the company’s in-house fitness center – albeit with restrictions – represents another step toward normality.

Employee health in focus
Fill’s experience with the testing strategy in recent months has been extremely good. Establishment of several vaccination lines at the company was therefore a logical second step. Fill started in-house coronavirus testing in October 2020 in order to ensure the health of employees and to enable on-site installation assignments in Austria and abroad. This testing operation was expanded substantially in March 2021. All employees and their family members, all retired Fill employees, and the entire population of Gurten have since been able to be tested for coronavirus free of charge from Monday to Friday.
