In spring 2019, Fill set a milestone in the field of e-mobility with successful implementation of the first fully automatic battery tray production plant – from concept design, to production, programming and assembly, through to commissioning – for a renowned German automotive manufacturer. The battery trays manufactured on Fill systems are being employed in the brand new Mercedes EQC (Electric Intelligence).
On behalf of another German automotive manufacturer, Fill is implementing a project whereby electric motor casings are being cast and machined in one value stream for the first time. The Fill system developed for this purpose covers the entire process chain for the cast part – from casting, to cooling, decoring and machining, through to inspection and stacking. A line of syncromill c machining centers forms the core of this system. Their flexible machine concepts allow the widest variety of machining tasks to be performed with extremely short non-productive times. Thanks to the use of intelligent clamping solutions, workpieces are machined extremely economically and efficiently.
100th SYNCROMILL C MACHINING CENTER
Apart from the technical innovation, this project provides another reason for Fill´s machine engineering experts to be proud: The one hundredth machining center from the syncromill c model
range is being integrated in this fully-automated production line for electric motor casings.
