In 1970, Fill manufactured the first ski production machine for Upper Austrian ski manufacturer Fischer. This order laid the foundation stone for the development of FULLY AUTOMATED PRODUCTION LINES. Skis and snowboards are composite components in a high-volume sector where the widest variety of materials, including wood, metal, fiberglass, and plastics, need to be processed. The complexity of this task made the greatest demands of Fill´s engineers, and these were fulfilled thanks to visionary developments.
For decades, Fill has been regarded as the GLOBAL MARKET LEADER AND LEADING INNOVATOR in ski and snowboard production systems. As a full-range supplier, the machine portfolio from Fill covers all production operations – from the press process through to the precision-ground, waxed, and tested piece of sports equipment. The expertise acquired from ski production subsequently flowed into Fill´s Plastics and Wood Competence Centers. Today these are successful internationally in many industrial sectors.
Ski producers are confronted worldwide with cut-throat competition. State-of-the-art technologies with a high level of automation for highly efficient production are crucial for gaining a competitive advantage. Employment of pioneering Siemens controller generations in combination with the FILL CYBERNETICS SMART FACTORY SOLUTION brings digitaliza tion to the production processes. This increases productivity substantially. Currently Fill can take pleasure in a high order inflow for ski machines and systems. The necessary replacement of old production machines and the increasing degree of automation solutions are just as much reasons as are the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, which are increasing demand above all in the huge Asian market.
