INTELLIGENT PROCESS TECHNIQUES FOR VIBRATION ASSISTED CUTTING (IVAC)

The research project "iVAC" includes the improvement of drilling processes of composites using vibration drilling systems with magnetic bearings and therefore represents an extension of the EFREtop project "VIBRATION ASSISTED CUTTING".

 

Due to analysis of ascertainable process parameters, modeling of the drilling process, further development of innovative drilling techniques, and the validation of theoretical findings basing on extended laboratory tests, this project makes an important contribution to manufacturing technology for finishing operation of fiber composites and multi-layer films. 

 

Duration of the project: November 9, 2017 - February 28, 2019
