Project Manager Software Engineering with a focus on Automation
Your tasks:
- Management and software-related coordination of customer-specific mechanical engineering projects in the field of automation technology (PLCs, robotics, visualization, drive technology)
- Responsibility for project planning, resource management, budgeting, and meeting deadlines
- Conducting project monitoring and ensuring that objectives are met
- Analysis of customer requirements and coordination of technical concepts with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordination and technical leadership of software and automation teams
- Creation and maintenance of project plans, effort estimates, and risk assessments
- Ensuring software quality through structured commissioning, testing, and acceptance processes
- Responsibility for implementing customer-specific solutions in the field of PLC and automation software
- Supporting safety concepts and risk assessments for machines and systems
- Close, interdisciplinary collaboration within the overall mechatronic system with the electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and software departments
- Providing technical guidance and support for machine commissioning both domestically and internationally (at the factory and at customer sites)
Your profile:
- Completed technical training (apprenticeship, HTL, FH) in automation technology, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in PLC programming and automation technology
- In-depth knowledge in the following areas:
- PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Sinumerik)
- Robotics (e.g., KUKA, ABB, Fanuc)
- Visualization systems (e.g., WinCC)
- Drive technology (Siemens, SEW)
- Experience in the software-related execution and coordination of projects in the industrial or mechanical engineering sector
- Understanding of complete mechatronic systems as well as interfaces between software, electrical engineering, and mechanics
- Ideally, experience in the technical leadership of teams or subprojects
- A structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
- Very good written and spoken German
- Good English skills
- Willingness to travel worldwide and a Class B driver’s license
